I did not tell my little one yesterday that it was a mother’s day. My MIL called her and told about it. She was surprised to know that. She was asking over the phone “What? Is today Mother’s day?” At the same time, she gestured me if that’s true. I nodded yes. Immediately she was bright. She told over phone “Hold on for a sec aaji… I have an important work. Don’t keep it down. Wait for a min on the line.”
She came near me. Her expression was like “Sorry mom, I didn’t knew it before”. She gave me a hand shake and a tight hug and told “happy mother’s day mma.” I was on the cloud nine already.
Then she ran to the phone and said “I just wished my mom, aaji. Thanks for letting me know.” Suddenly she remembered something and spoke over phone “Aaji, please cut the call. I have another urgent work.” Then she called her dad who was not there at home at that time and informed him about the special day and asked him to immediately call his mom. Then she dialled my mom’s number, informed her about it and then gave the phone to me.
After all this, she gave me a plain paper and asked me to cut the paper in heart shape. But she said “Mom, I just remembered I have a project work from school and this is for that only.” And I did what she asked. After few mins, she gave me this card wishing me again. We moms are used for “Thozha Nagarjuna” type “surprise” expression, right? So I was "surprised" and made her happy in turn.
